This wonderful email from Alex Wood, Tom's lovely grandson, with a proposal, as you will see, that he will be doing a half-marathon in memory of his beloved grandfather with the object of raising funds for the Brain Tumour Charity.

Hello Everyone.  How are you all?

I was wondering if I could possibly ask for your help?

As you know, two years ago we sadly lost my grandfather, Tom Perchard, to a brain tumour. Knowing what an upstanding individual he was both to the community and his family, I have decided to fundraise for The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of my grandad. The reason  I am raising this money is for my grandad for whom I will be running in the London Half Marathon this coming May.

I would really appreciate any support at all that you can give towards this.

I've just set up my fundraising page today and I don't have many of the Methodist circuit community's emails so I am unable to share this with the people whom I know he cared for dearly.

Would you mind circulating this email amongst your friends and members of the St. Martin's Methodist Church?

I would really appreciate your support! You can donate to my JustGiving page

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to The Brain Tumour Charity, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Below I have attached a picture of me in my running gear - in case you needed photographic proof haha.

I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe!

Would love to see and hear from you soon.

Warmest regards,

Alex Wood
